Now on to Common Core. Well after having a year of implementing common core math, this year I want to try and focus more on the math practices. You know those eight math practices that all students must work on and that continue on to high school. I'm still trying to figure out how to perfect my anecdotal notes but I thought this would help. Using these questions during a math talk can help to see where the student strength and weaknesses are. Just click on the picture to get the all of the pages.

I dress casual and then there are days I do dress up a little. It always depends on my mood.

I dress more casual than to the nines. I guess it depends on what we will be doing that day. Thanks for the giveaway!

I am a casual dresser. I run all over the building working with different students in different classrooms and grades. I often need to sit on the floor in the hallway with a small group, too. Casual is just better for me!
ReplyDeleteI am pretty casual. I love when we get to wear jeans.

I am an in between dresser. I love my casual Fridays, but the rest of the week is dress pants/skirts and wedges.

Our site is very flexible. I dress up when I know I am working with parents, but some outfits just aren't practical when you need to sit on the floor with students or our 100 degree temps at the beginning of the year. I don't think I could live without my flip flops and sandals in Tucson.
ReplyDeleteI guess I'd have to say I dress more casually than "to the nines"...though we do have to wear dress pants, etc every day except Fridays.
ReplyDeleteI am more of a casual dresser but it really depends on my mood.

Because I work at a high poverty school, I make it a point to dress professionally. I also wear heels everyday. On Fridays, I wear jeans (dark wash) and a school t shirt. I think dressing professionally sets a good example for the kids and also lets them know that I think they are important enough to dress up for.

I'm an in-betweener, though I tend to lean more towards casual. To me casual is more comfortable. There are definitely days that I like to dress nicer though.
ReplyDeleteWhen I worked at a school in an upper class neighborhood, I dressed up (minus heels, like many co-workers). Now I teach in a suburb with more moderately priced homes (no apartments), I dress more casually. I can actually get away with "cute" tennis shoes, like Keds, eventhough my principal still wears heels. I don't know how she does it, especially when she has to chase Kindergarteners down the hall.
ReplyDeleteI go for comfy casual. As a kindergarten teacher I'm often on the floor, or doing messy art projects etc. Plus our school is in a very poor neighborhood and many of the parents think that teachers are trying to lord it over them if they were fancy clothes. It's often one of the first complaints "That teacher thinks she's better than me cause she's dressed all fancy!" has been heard from many parents. I never want my students' families to think I'm inaccessible. Besides, my budget can only support school supplies OR nice clothes, not both! Obviously I have to go with the school supplies :)

Most of the time I dress casual, but some days I dress up! Depends on my mood! :)

Most of the time I dress more casual than dressy. Usually cute flats and skirt or pants and a cute top. Fridays we can wear nice jeans and our school shirt. :)
